Computer Desk
It's the main shapes and proportions that help trigger recognition. Some things, such as desks and chairs, change very little. Computers certainly change!

Shelves
With boxes on both sides of the shelves, I could turn the set of shelves around to reveal a different box layout. Nothing defeats or cheapens an illustration more quickly than the repetition of elements.

I added film coming out of the film processor for a newsletter from LISTEN, a community service organization.

Binder
I was familiar with most of the prepress equipment from my work with several service bureaus. But for the printing equipment, Logic supplied me with photos from trade magazines for reference.

Web Press

|
The web press also has a Fluent job on it. Each large vertical rectangle is a press, which, in real life, contains rollers that would apply one color of ink on both sides of the page. Here, more for my fun than anything else, the first press applies Cyan, the second Magenta, the third Yellow and the fourth Black. The horizontal rectangle is a heater to dry the ink. |

And, the finished piece as it comes out of the web press and goes into the drier!

AutoCount 100
The Logic equipment I was very familiar with, having created the artwork that was silk-screened onto the actual devices. I also produced all of the wiring schematics used in their manuals.
The simple geometry really comes alive with the texture maps giving it the needed detail.
